- ahoy there! yes, git is part of the usability bottleneck; the alternatives going forward seem to be roughly 1. adding more providers of identity+storage, e.g. potentially google drive/dropbox/nextcloud with oauth? or 2. make git self-hosting/community-hosting easier, and put together/develop better UI for it so more and more users can benefit from this simple decentralized hosting model. [[coop cloud]] is a great step in this direction for sure, git.agor.ai is up on coop cloud already :)

- some activity over at https://www.loomio.com/d/yh0aFRbU/comment/3157196?utm_campaign=new_comment&utm_medium=email w.r.t. chat services for the coop at large, and for the community working group to use in particular. we have a few zulip proponents :) going by https://github.com/zulip/docker-zulip it doesn’t seem like it would be too hard to develop a [[coop cloud]] recipe; and zulip seems to support single-sign-on well, so we could hook it up to auth.social.coop as needed for a test.

[[zulip]] is another popular option I think it’d be nice to try, although it’s more of a collab suite than a general chat platform in my experience.
